Eddie Van Halen, the guitarist whose group is considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Eddie Van Halen died on October 6, 2020 after a long battle with cancer, his son announced.

"I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning,"

"He was the best father I could ever ask for," he added. "Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift.

"My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop."

Edward Lodewijk Van Halen was a Dutch-American musician, songwriter, producer, and inventor. He was the main songwriter and lead guitarist of the American rock band Van Halen, which he co-founded in 1972 with his brother, drummer Alex Van Halen, bassist Mark Stone, and singer David Lee Roth.

Died : 6 October 2020 in Providence Saint John`s Health Center - Santa Monica, California, United                             States.
